Hope Is Where the Heart Is
The One Korea Foundation, a non-profit corporation operating in Washington, D.C. area, holds peaceful unification of Korea with freedom, democracy, rule of law and human rights for all as the paramount goal.
The Foundation conducts educational and advocacy activities (e.g., seminars, lectures, debates, information campaigns, public testimonials, and cultural events) to encourage the public and policy makers toward accepting the doctrine of Hongik Ingan (홍익인간 /弘益人間: Attaining broad benefit for Humankind) as the governing motto of united Korea and the Declaration for One Korea as the guiding principle of efforts for unification. OKF actively seeks opportunities for joint endeavors in partnership or coalition with other individuals and groups with similar objectives.

A Bit of Background
In mid-August 2015, on the occasion of the 70th year of Division of Korean and 150th year of re-unification of the United States, the One Korea Foundation, in coalition with the Global Peace Foundation, held commemorative events at the Lincoln Memorial and U.S. Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. proclaiming the Declaration for One Korea and a new song One Dream One Korea. ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Dr. Jai-poong Ryu 류재풍 柳在豊
Professor Emeritus, Loyola University. Founder, One Korea Foundation. He graduated from Law College Seoul National University and received a doctorate in sociology from University Minnesota. While teaching and research in the areas of micro-sociological interpretation of history, conflict resolution, demography, and social institutions, Dr. Ryu also served as advisor to Mayors Schmoke and O’Malley and to the US Census Bureau in Baltimore, In 2015 for the 70th Anniversary commemoration of Korea’s liberation and division, OKF embarked upon One Dream One Korea Campaign in Washington DC with Global Peace Foundation.
